Welcome to the Team Steve Oswald! At Roydan we are always excited to bring on new team members. We believe that different perspectives allow us to create the very best solutions for our valued customers. When we met the newest member of our Software Development team, we knew that he would fit in perfectly.
Steve Oswald has been in IT since the late 1980s. Throughout his career, he has worked for a variety of different organizations, industries, and technology platforms, but the one thing that has remained constant is his desire to bring the very best to the customer.
Working with Roydan appealed to Steve for a variety of reasons. “Not only was I able to get back to a type of development that was more in my wheelhouse, but I also cut my commute from over an hour to 25 minutes,” he notes. But more importantly, Steve felt akin to the team at Roydan. “I was drawn to the idea that Roydan was a smaller company. I was also impressed by the longevity of the team members. It spoke volumes about the stability and the culture of this organization,” he notes.
In his role as a software developer, Steve works with both the core Bloodhound applications as well as the newer Agile side of the development process. He is looking forward to the many opportunities the Roydan product suite offers. “I enjoy the fact that Roydan’s software solutions have unique opportunities on both the development and integration sides of the equation. It’s a challenge, but it allows our team to create solutions that meet both the customer needs as well as the ever-changing compliance requirements,” he points out.
Steve considers himself an answer man of sorts and looks forward to helping find those answers for the customer. “The problem solving really drives me. Each of our customers have needs specific to their business processes. I enjoy learning those processes and then developing the solution that will fit those needs.” He also notes that it’s okay not to have all the answers. “I have always believed that ‘I don’t know’ is a perfectly acceptable answer as long as you are willing to do whatever it takes to find the solution. It can’t be the final answer, but can be part of the process towards the end-result.”
When Steve is not at work developing solutions for Roydan’s customers, he enjoys time with his wife in their new role as empty-nesters. “It’s wonderful to start concentrating on the things that matter to us!” Some of those things include renovations on their 135-year-old farm house, photography, ceramics, and a variety of other projects.
